      • Meticulously-designed smoother, lighter cast iron pan reminiscent of the best vintage American skillets.
      • Compatible with all stovetop burner types, including glass and ceramic induction ranges.
      • Safe to use in the oven, on the grill, or over an open flame.
      • Optimized weight and handle ergonomics to make it the pan you'll reach for the most, while retaining the heft needed for high-heat searing.

It's the perfect family pan, a great size for breakfast, grilling and everything in between.

      • 11 " top diameter
      • 9 ¾" cooking surface
      • 6 lb total weight

Field Skillets match traditional vintage sizing conventions, where the “number” corresponds not to diameter in inches, but to the burner ring size on an old-fashioned wood-burning stove. That means a No.10 skillet is actually larger than 10 inches. (It’s tricky, we know.)

Looking for a smaller pan? Try our Starter Set, featuring the No.8 Skillet + Care Kit

A well-seasoned cast iron pan achieves a natural non-stick surface without harmful chemicals or engineered coatings. Your skillet will arrive pre-seasoned, so it’s ready to cook right away.

Cast iron gets hot and stays hot, making it the best material for stovetop searing, oven-roasting vegetables, and sweet or savory baked goods.

Field Cast Iron is 100% Made in the USA. We work with iron sourced from American vendors, and pour our cookware using green sand castings—just like the most celebrated vintage cast iron manufacturers, Griswold and Wagner.

      • Chain Mail Scrubber made from USA Stainless Steel, manufactured in the USA.
      • Natural Fiber Brush made with oiled beech wood handle and stiff natural union fiber bristles; Made in Germany, from fully biodegradable and compostable materials.
      1. Rinse out the pan and remove loose food with brush.
      2. Scour with a chain mail scrubber to smooth down seasoning.
      3. Heat the pan on the stovetop for a few minutes to evaporate moisture.
      4. Apply a small dab of seasoning oil and evenly coat all surfaces of the pan with a paper towel or rag.
      5. Wipe away excess oil to leave a dry, matte finish.

        A Winning Combination

So helpful to have the care kit to get started with our first polished cast iron skillet! My kids especially love the chain mail, while I appreciate the lightness of the pan and how it came seasoned and ready to go.
