  • Meticulously-designed smoother, lighter cast iron pan reminiscent of the best vintage American skillets.
  • Compatible with all stovetop burner types, including glass and ceramic induction ranges.
  • Safe to use in the oven, on the grill, or over an open flame.
  • Optimized weight and handle ergonomics make it the pan you'll reach for the most, while retaining the heft needed for high-heat searing.
  • 10 ¼" top diameter
  • 8 ¾" cooking surface
  • 4.5 lb total weight

Field Skillets match traditional vintage sizing conventions, where the “number” corresponds not to diameter in inches, but to the burner ring size on an old-fashioned wood-burning stove. That means a No.8 skillet is actually larger than 8 inches. (It’s tricky, we know.)

Looking for a bigger pan? Try the Bigger Starter Set, featuring our No.10 Skillet + Care Kit

PFOA and PFTE Free. A well-seasoned cast iron pan achieves a natural non-stick surface without harmful chemicals or engineered coatings. Your skillet will arrive pre-seasoned, so it’s ready to cook right away.

Cast iron gets hot and stays hot, making it the best material for stovetop searing, oven-roasting vegetables, and sweet or savory baked goods.

Field Cast Iron is 100% Made in the USA. We work with iron sourced from American vendors, and pour our cookware using green sand castings—just like the most celebrated vintage cast iron manufacturers, Griswold and Wagner.

  • Chain Mail Scrubber made from USA Stainless Steel, manufactured in the USA.
  • Natural Fiber Brush made with oiled beech wood handle and stiff natural union fiber bristles; Made in Germany, from fully biodegradable and compostable materials.

Like all great tools, cast iron cookware gets better with time and use.

To keep your Field Skillet in top condition:

  • Pre-heat on low for up to 5 minutes before you start cooking.
  • Use acidic ingredients sparingly.
  • Clean according the Field Method for Cast Iron Care & Maintenance.
  • Hand-wash only. Never in the dishwasher.
  • Towel dry or heat to dry on the stovetop. Never drip-dry or store wet.

Most importantly, cook often!

    Starter Set No. 8

We love this pan! I've come to use it just about daily and it has seasoned so nicely! I plan to buy the next size up soon as I've already begun getting rid of the other pans I have w/ the teflon coating.

Can I give it 6 stars! Favorite skillet by far!

We love our Field pan No. 8 skillet. This thing is our most-used, most-loved and favorite tool in the kitchen by far. We've had one for 3 years, gifted some to family, and now expanding our kit with a few different sizes. Works so well with induction, and totally non-stick when cared for - so much so that we even cook omelettes and eggs no problem on here. USA made with quality, can't ask for more!

    LOVE MY SKILLET

Use this everyday truly a world of difference from other cast iron products I've owned and given away. Non-stick surface is fantastic. Easy clean-up with the care kit. I'll be adding additional Field Company pans to complete my set soon!

    This is a good kit

I’m glad I got it. The brush and chain cleaner both help get my pan clean. The oil blend is helping seasoning my pan. I use it nearly every time I use my skillet.
