I am truly shocked at how wonderful this pan is. As a vegetarian who loves over easy fried eggs and seared tofu, I never thought I'd be able to transition from non-stick pans to cast iron. I was able to cook a perfect over easy egg on day 1 of using this pan (aka with the out-of-the-box seasoning), and it only gets better every time I use it.

The Field #8 skillet is the best of all the 10-inch varieties I have tried, especially if you're after a modern version of a Wagner or Griswold.

After much research, and watching Cowboy Kent Rollins, I decided to go with the Field brand. I could not be more happy with this purchase. This skillet has a great weight and feel to it. The non stick was there from the start. I have used it to fry many eggs, veggies, and a pan of cornbread. All came out great. I can tell this will be an heirloom for one lucky kid or grandkid.

I didn't expect that it would impress me enough to make it worth the money. I was wrong! I've been cooking with this skillet daily, side by side with my Lodge skillet for the past six weeks and I love it. The handle is so much more comfortable to hold. The surface is easier to clean and is so smooth that I've never had anything stick.
