  • Meticulously-designed smoother, lighter cast iron pan reminiscent of the best vintage American skillets.
  • Compatible with all stovetop burner types, including glass and ceramic induction ranges.
  • Safe to use in the oven, on the grill, or over an open flame.
  • Optimized weight and handle ergonomics make it the pan you'll reach for the most, while retaining the heft needed for high-heat searing.
  • 10 ¼" top diameter
  • 8 ¾" cooking surface
  • 4.5 lb total weight

Field Skillets match traditional vintage sizing conventions, where the “number” corresponds not to diameter in inches, but to the burner ring size on an old-fashioned wood-burning stove. That means a No.8 skillet is actually larger than 8 inches. (It’s tricky, we know.)

Looking for a bigger pan? Try the Bigger Starter Set, featuring our No.10 Skillet + Care Kit

PFOA and PFTE Free. A well-seasoned cast iron pan achieves a natural non-stick surface without harmful chemicals or engineered coatings. Your skillet will arrive pre-seasoned, so it’s ready to cook right away.

Cast iron gets hot and stays hot, making it the best material for stovetop searing, oven-roasting vegetables, and sweet or savory baked goods.

Field Cast Iron is 100% Made in the USA. We work with iron sourced from American vendors, and pour our cookware using green sand castings—just like the most celebrated vintage cast iron manufacturers, Griswold and Wagner.

  • Chain Mail Scrubber made from USA Stainless Steel, manufactured in the USA.
  • Natural Fiber Brush made with oiled beech wood handle and stiff natural union fiber bristles; Made in Germany, from fully biodegradable and compostable materials.

Like all great tools, cast iron cookware gets better with time and use.

To keep your Field Skillet in top condition:

  • Pre-heat on low for up to 5 minutes before you start cooking.
  • Use acidic ingredients sparingly.
  • Clean according the Field Method for Cast Iron Care & Maintenance.
  • Hand-wash only. Never in the dishwasher.
  • Towel dry or heat to dry on the stovetop. Never drip-dry or store wet.

Most importantly, cook often!

    We absolutely love it

Used this for the first time and reluctantly made scrambled eggs with cheese. Had very little stick right out of the box as a pre seasoned pan and whatever did stick was easily removed by the chain mail scrubber. I could not rate or recommend this product any higher!

Exactly what I was searching for!!!

There is a learning curve for proper use. I am sure I will get many, many years of quality service from this skillet. Lightweight is the feature I am enjoying. Thank you Field Company for made in the USA products.

    Excellent pan

I ordered the starter kit for my son. Its great! He’s learning to cook and really enjoys the sear he can achieve on meats and then out of the box seasoned non stick pan. It’s been great for him.

    Best cast iron

I am in love with this pan. Now I wish I would have ordered the larger one. I like how it does not get any build up on the sides and it is totally non stick.
