Field Factory Seconds fall just short of our exacting tolerances and may have one or more minor imperfections. They cook just as well as our "firsts," and will last just as long (that is, forever).

Factory Seconds are 30% OFF while supplies last. Final sale only.

What are Factory Seconds?

Expand

Field Company has strict tolerances for our products. Anything that doesn't meet these criteria are typically rejected and recycled into new cast iron products. However, some products are so close to our tolerances that they cook just as well as full-priced pans, and it would be excessively wasteful to recycle them. We offer them as Factory Seconds with a discount.

What imperfections can I expect?

Expand

The most common issue is cosmetic imperfections such as small dimples in the outer surfaces of the cast iron, marks left behind from the machining process, or variations in color of the factory pre-seasoning. Many cosmetic imperfections will disappear over time as your own seasoning covers over the mark.

Some products have a bottom flatness slightly outside our normal tolerance, which could cause a slight wobble on a flat surface. This might be noticeable on an induction or flat top range, but is usually undetectable on a gas stove or in the oven.

See each product listing for more details.

Can I return a Factory Second?

Expand

Due to the steep discount of Factory Seconds we do not accept returns. We do guarantee that they cook just as well as our full-priced products.
