I love how light this is, and the finish is nice and smooth compared to other cast irons I have. Definitely will be used a lot.

Growing up, we always used cast-iron skillets, but as I got older, they were just too heavy for me to handle. I was surprised when I received my skillet from Field at just how light it is. I am now happily back to using cast iron, one of the safest and most efficient ways to cook.

Excellent finish on the skillet which is smooth and seasoned. Heats evenly and browns well. No problems with sticking after the first couple of uses. Keep the finish good with Field's finishing oil.

I bought the #6 cast iron to replace a non-stick. I was concerned making eggs would be a problem but the eggs fried quickly and evenly and literally slid out of the pan, onto my plate with no assistance from a spatula. I love how well the pan heats and cooks, and clean up with no soaps or chemicals is a big plus. I highly recommend the pan.

We’ve been using our Field No. 6 cast iron skillet daily for a couple of months now and it’s our favorite pan. It’s smooth, easy to cook with, and easy to clean and maintain.
