How to Use

  1. Rinse out pan and remove loose food with brush

  2. Use chain mail scrubber to dislodge any remaining gunk and gently scuff cooking surface and side walls

  3. Heat pan on stovetop to evaporate moisture

  4. If necessary, wipe up remaining moisture with a paper towel

  5. Apply a dab (about ¼ tsp) of Seasoning Oil. Use a paper towel or cloth rag to rub over all surfaces of the pan, inside and out

  6. Wipe away excess oil to leave a dry, matte finish

Use the stainless steel Chain Mail Scrubber to get rid of stubborn food residue.

Even if your skillet is relatively clean, we recommend gently scuffing the surface and side walls of your skillet, preparing it to accept new and stronger seasoning.

Field Seasoning Oil

Dry your cast iron, then apply a thin coat of Seasoning Oil to all surfaces—including the side walls and bottom.

Even a thin coating will help ensure that you're building new, resilient seasoning every time you heat your skillet. Cook often, and apply after every use!

    Excellent!

    Surprisingly better than a copper mesh scrubbing pad. I find it gets greasy after use, so I put it on the sink bottom, spritz some dish soap on it, and then run the hot water on it for a minute or two. This seems to clean it well - better than putting it in the dishwasher silver section.

    Small Chain Mail Scrubber

    It works fine on the cast iron. I wish I had the option to get a larger one. This is too small for my big clumsy fingers.

    Chain mail scrubber

    This works well for cleaning my cast iron pan. Previously I used to use a blue scrubbing sponge, which didn’t remove all the old carbon buildup. I believe this contributed to some of my seasoning flaking off. That was on my older pan. I have been fairly consistent with cleaning and applying Fields seasoning oil to my new pan, and it has been very effective.

    Very well made! I appreciate the size of the individual rings in the chain mail. Much finer than its competition. Aggressive enough to remove any stuck on bits and fine enough to not damage the seasoning
