Use the Cast Iron Lid's self-basting ridges to maximize your skillet's capabilities: learn how to braise, steam, and melt with a Field lid, starting with braised chicken thighs.
Field Skillets draw inspiration from the lighter, smoother skillets of America’s cast iron manufacturing heyday. For our first lid, we put our spin on a cast iron innovation.

- Mark S.Verified BuyerReviewingNo.8 Cast Iron Skillet #8 - 10 1/4"I recommend this productWhat type of stovetop do you primarily use with your cast iron?? Electric GlassRated 4 out of 5 stars1 week agoGreat Pan
It is smooth, exactly as promised. I can't get an egg to fly around in it like in the ad, but I was able to make a thin crepe with it, so that's impressive. The only 'fault' I find with it is that a pour spout would be nice. Other than that, an excellent pan.

This is, without a doubt, the best piece of cooking equipment I’ve ever had. I use it for everything from pancakes to fillet and nothing sticks. It truly is a joy to use, made more so by the fact I am not feeding my family anything potentially toxic .

I love this skillet. If I had a bigger family I would definitely buy the larger siz one.

We use this pan every day, eggs in the morning, grilled cheese, etc. It’s much smoother and lighter than our previous cast-iron. I would recommend!

I bought the #8 and #12. I haven’t needed the 12 it’s much to big. I should have bought the -#10. I use the #8 every single day for eggs and shredded potatoes. It’s super easy to use, clean and season. I could lose all my other pans and be perfectly happy with this. I’ve used it to make a Dutch baby pancake, sear steaks, cook potatoes, and honestly anything a skillet can be used for. It’s a dream!
