I’ve never had a good cast iron skillet…until now. Admittedly , this was sort of an impulse buy. What sold me was the “smooth bottom” which turned out to be absolutely correct. With a little preheating and a little butter and/or olive oil, my eggs slide around nicely in the morning…and are WAY better than if frying in an aluminum/teflon pan.

Very pleased with this skillet. The reduced weight is helpful in cooking but it still cooks evenly when heated slowly. Smooth finish makes getting it non stick much easier. Considering the 10” now! Also pleased with the cast iron seasoning concoction.

I have cooked on modern Lodge cast iron for years. I decided I wanted a higher end piece and after considerable research I chose a Field Co number 8. I absolutely love this skillet. I have cooked on it almost daily for months now and have yet to need anything more than warm water and a gentle scrubbie to clean it after use. It sits on my stovetop as there is no point in putting it away and getting it out each day. Photo is my most recent use- peach/raspberry cobbler.

Simply awesome skillet. No effort to clean it. Nothing really has stuck at all.

We’ve been on a cast iron kick the last few years. This is our 4th from 4 different companies and the smoothness of this pan and its light weight is amazing! We love it!
