Field Skillets draw inspiration from the lighter, smoother skillets of America’s cast iron manufacturing heyday. For our first lid, we put our spin on a cast iron innovation.

I have been using this skillet for several months now and I love it. I got rid of ALL my non-stick pans. It's the perfect size and weight and easy to care for. If you are on the fence about spending the money, DO IT. It's an investment you won't regret.

This skillet is so amazing, I was the biggest skeptic ever and fully convinced that I would return it. Imagine my surprise when out of the box it became my absolute favorite cooking utensil. The surface is amazingly non-stick, I follow directions quite well and it's so slick now that fried eggs slide around as if they were on some yucky Teflon pan. Only they're on cast iron,, who knew that a cast iron pan could be so much fun to cook on? Why didn't I order one of these sooner!?

I've never used cast iron before and have been afraid to try. I've gone through many teflon pans that eventually chip, scratch, get ruined, and end up in the trash. I was worried cast iron would be too heavy for me because I'm a delicate flower. The lighter weight and smooth surface of the Field skillet tempted me enough I decided to take the plunge. I've been pleasantly surprised. The educational videos and emails from Field have been very helpful. I'm happy to say I can now fry eggs over easy in my cast iron without them sticking. I never though that would happen. And it's not too heavy for me to work with. I've had the pan for a couple months now and it is getting beautifully seasoned. I'm very happy I finally have a skillet that will last a lifetime.

I have the No. 8 pan, it’s amazingly lighter than my previous cast-iron pots and pans. It’s also so easy to clean that I use it much more often and may give away my “non-stick” pans. It stays on top of the stove ready for action! Now I’m thinking I need the Dutch oven too.
