Founded by two brothers with a passion for cast iron, our journey in cast iron began with the question “Why don’t they make them like they used to?”  We pour our cast iron cookware using green sand castings—just like the most celebrated vintage cast iron manufacturers, Griswold and Wagner. Also like vintage skillets, the Field Skillet is a full pound light than most cast iron on the market, and machined smooth for a surface that seasons to a nonstick finish.

A well-seasoned cast iron pan achieves a natural non-stick surface made up of naturally occurring polymers from the oils you use on your pan—no harmful chemicals or engineered coatings. Our pans are 100% free of PFOAs and PFTEs—your skillet will arrive pre-seasoned with just three coats of organic grapeseed oil, so it’s ready to cook right away.

It is not necessary to season your Field Skillet in the oven. Your pan will continue to develop seasoning easily and naturally just by cooking and keeping the surface of your pan smooth and free of build up. Read more about our recommended cleaning process at the Field Method for Cast Iron Care & Maintenance, and more about seasoning here.

Field cast iron cookware is compatible with all stovetop burner types, including glass and ceramic induction ranges. Like all great tools, cast iron cookware gets better with time and use. To keep your Field Skillet in top condition:

  • Pre-heat on low for up to 5 minutes before you start cooking.

  • Clean according the Field Method for Cast Iron Care & Maintenance

  • Hand-wash only. Never in the dishwasher.

  • Towel dry and warm on the stovetop to evaporate moisture. Never drip-dry or store wet.

Most importantly, cook often!

    Excellent grip

I own two of these beautiful Leather grips, currently one at home and one in the truck camp box. Two more to get later for the color. I find them functional right at the moment I need to move that hot skillet, and when I've just cooked the meal, The Leather Handle Cover enables me to eat from my No.6. This Leather Handle Cover is a must have when I'm out in the field.

    Love this Field skillet!

I own a lot of cast iron…Both new and old stuff and honestly I cannot stop reaching for this Field 10. It’s light, picks up seasoning reeeeeaally well and it’s also beautiful to look at. I highly recommend purchasing if you’ve been contemplating it and haven’t yet pulled the trigger. It’s NICE stuff!

    Love these pans

I am now on to the third of these pans in different sizes in the past couple months. Decided to give them a try and have been extremely happy with each one.

This one allows me to cook a bit larger amount for when the family is here and not just cooking for one or two. Love the quality and craftsmanship
