Field Factory Second Griddles cook just as well as full-price griddles, but may have minor cosmetic imperfections. These imperfections typically fill in over time as your seasoning develops.

The 10 ½” No.9 Cast Iron Round Griddle is ready for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—on any stovetop. At just 4 pounds, it’s the easiest griddle to reach for in the morning, and a versatile tool to add to your kitchen.

The 10 ½” No.9 Cast Iron Round Griddle is ready for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—on any stovetop. At just 4 pounds, it’s the easiest griddle to reach for in the morning, and a versatile tool to add to your kitchen.

Factory Seconds have small scratches, dings, or other cosmetic imperfections, but they cook just as well as our "firsts," and will last just as long (that is, forever).

Decades ago, round griddles were a staple of every cast iron cookware manufacturer's catalog, and it's easy to see why: a super-light griddle is easy to fire up in the morning, and a round, single-burner design fits on any stovetop. We made a lighter, smoother 10 ½" griddle in the same style. It works on all kinds of burners—electric and induction included—and rewards time & use.

Field Skillets follow vintage sizing conventions, and the same goes for our first Field Griddle. The No.9 Round Griddle is slightly wider than the No.8 Skillet, both on the cooking surface and from edge to edge:

  • 10 ½" diameter
  • 9" cooking surface
  • 4 lb total weight
  • 16 ⅜" total length (includes handle)
  • ½" edge

Well-seasoned cast iron cookware achieves a natural non-stick surface without harmful chemicals or engineered coatings. Your griddle will arrive pre-seasoned, so it’s ready to cook right away.

Cast iron gets hot and stays hot, making it the best material for stovetop cooking, for everything from pancakes to steaks.

Field cast iron cookware is compatible with all stovetop burner types, including glass and ceramic induction ranges.

Field Cast Iron is 100% Made in the USA. We work with recycled iron sourced from American vendors, and pour our cast iron cookware using green sand castings—just like the most celebrated vintage cast iron manufacturers, Griswold and Wagner.

Our naturally non-stick cooking surface comes from multiple coats of grapeseed oil pre-seasoning. No teflon, no dirty tricks.

Like all great tools, cast iron cookware gets better with time and use.

To keep your Field Griddle in top condition:

  • Pre-heat on low for up to 5 minutes before you start cooking. (And always start with a test pancake!)
  • Use acidic ingredients sparingly.
  • Clean according the Field Method for Cast Iron Care & Maintenance .
  • Hand-wash only. Never in the dishwasher.
  • Towel dry or heat to dry on the stovetop. Never drip-dry or store wet.

Most importantly, cook often!

    My Favorite Pan

This the pan I use most in my kitchen. It's great for making eggs, hamburgers, or any grilled sandwiched. I have gifted two to friends. Five other people have purchased this pan after seeing me use it and they love it.

    Most versatile piece

Been using 4 field company pans, (no.4,6,8 and this) and would say this is the most versatile and easy to use. Can cook two piece of toast at once, or 4 eggs so perfert for preparing breakfast. Also perfect for braising chicken breasts.

it's relatively lightweight regarding its wide cooking surface since the rim is low. As are other field company pans i've been using, excellent for braising without sticking.

    I clean it, oil it

I clean it, oil it and warm it, but it never gets put away before the next use. It is hard to believe it is so non-stick!
