Cast iron and breakfast go hand-in-hand, and the No.9 Griddle is a single-burner tool ready for everyday use.

Decades ago, round griddles were a staple of every cast iron cookware manufacturer's catalog, and it's easy to see why: a super-light griddle is easy to fire up in the morning, and a round, single-burner design fits on any stovetop. We made a lighter, smoother 10 ½" griddle in the same style. It works on all kinds of burners—electric and induction included—and rewards time & use.

Field Skillets follow vintage sizing conventions, and the same goes for our first Field Griddle. The No.9 Round Griddle is slightly wider than the No.8 Skillet, both on the cooking surface and from edge to edge:

  • 10 ½" diameter
  • 9" cooking surface
  • 4 lb total weight
  • 16 ⅜" total length (includes handle)
  • ½" edge

Well-seasoned cast iron cookware achieves a natural non-stick surface without harmful chemicals or engineered coatings. Your griddle will arrive pre-seasoned, so it’s ready to cook right away.

Cast iron gets hot and stays hot, making it the best material for stovetop cooking, for everything from pancakes to steaks.

Field cast iron cookware is compatible with all stovetop burner types, including glass and ceramic induction ranges.

Field Cast Iron is 100% Made in the USA. We work with recycled iron sourced from American vendors, and pour our cast iron cookware using green sand castings—just like the most celebrated vintage cast iron manufacturers, Griswold and Wagner.

Our naturally non-stick cooking surface comes from multiple coats of grapeseed oil pre-seasoning. No teflon, no dirty tricks.

Like all great tools, cast iron cookware gets better with time and use.

To keep your Field Griddle in top condition:

  • Pre-heat on low for up to 5 minutes before you start cooking. (And always start with a test pancake!)
  • Use acidic ingredients sparingly.
  • Clean according the Field Method for Cast Iron Care & Maintenance .
  • Hand-wash only. Never in the dishwasher.
  • Towel dry or heat to dry on the stovetop. Never drip-dry or store wet.

Most importantly, cook often!

    Great Griddle!

Great size for pancakes, eggs, vegetables. A breeze to keep clean and seasoned. Can't have too many iron pans!

    Good addition

We have used this quite a bit so far. Used for pancakes, omelets. plant based sausages, blackened salmon and worked out well.

Smaller than expected but that is my error. Still works for our family of 2 though.

    Happy with my cast iron!

    Game changer!!!!

I already own the celebration set, so the quality was no surprise. This griddle lives now on my range. It is superb for eggs and pancakes. Not so heavy, perfect size and just enough edge to keep food in without being in the way for turning, and taking out. I also bought the turner set and the combination is a joy to work with. The griddle works perfectly right out of the box. Very impressive. Heats easy, cleans easy and cooks perfect. Highly recommended!

Wonderful smooth surface! Works great on Glass.

My wife discarded the only cast iron pan we had years ago after we got our first glass cooktop stove. It would warp so that the pan rocked and didn’t make good contact creating a hot spot in one area of the pan, something we didn’t notice on a normal burner. We avoided cast iron thereafter until we began looking for an alternative to non-stick coatings and read about The Field Company pans on Facebook. The outer ring on the bottom really does make a huge difference. These pans do not warp when heated, and the bonus is we use less power to cook on them than copper clad or non-stick surfaces. Whereas we had to turn ther heat up 7-9 out of 10 on the dial we NEVER need to increase the temp beyond 2.8 with most foods cooking well at 2.4 on our glass cooktop LG range. The only criticism is we’d like a number 12 sized griddle. The number nine is just a little small for us and the oblong griddles don’t reach properly between our heat sources. We have a number 12 skillet so we know the size works for us but would like it in a griddle.

Never been so happy about a FB ad purchase!

I'm really happy with the griddle pan! I've made omelettes, fried eggs, pancakes, and more. I can't believe how non-stick it is from the get go, and I'm happily building up the seasoning.
