Yes—all cast iron skillets, including chef skillets, work on induction. Cast iron is naturally magnetic, which is exactly what induction cooktops require (even if the bottom of the pan doesn't have full contact).

The nonstick surface only gets better the more you cook and will continue to develop from the oils you cook with.

Most modern cast iron is heavy and rough—sold "as cast" to save on costs. Field skillets are machined smooth, modeled on the best vintage cookware—thinner walls, less weight, and a surface that builds great seasoning fast. It's how cast iron used to be made, done even better.

Perfect for one or two people

As advertised, lightweight and perfect for induction. Using a glass lid, I can fry/poach two eggs just right.

    The Perfect Egg Pan!

I bought this pan specifically for my husband and the two eggs he fries up every morning. It was basically non-stick from the start and now that he knows how to prep and maintain it, it truly is a non-stick pan that will last forever and we will pass down to our son (along with our other Field Cast Iron pans!) After using it, we just wipe it down and it's ready for the next egg batch. Every now and then I will wash it with hot soapy water and season it again, but that's just my personal preference. Oh, and the hubs tells me that he loves cooking his eggs now and he thinks he's a chef! :D

    Awesome!

I've used my cast iron pan several times since receiving it. Easy to lift, I really like the size. Just right for 1 to 2 people to make a morning breakfast with. Love the shape and is easy to clean .

    Perfect!

The no. 5 skillet is perfect for cooking my morning eggs and a single nice sized burger! And its weight is great for my nearly 70 year old hands/wrists! My kids will probably fight over it when I’m gone. :)
