Great kitchen utensils only get better with time and use. For our go-to griddle turner, we selected a durable cherry wood handle that, like cast iron cookware, will develop a rich, warm patina over time.
Our turner includes a beveled front edge, creating flush contact with the cooking surface for better flipping and lifting (think grilled cheese or diner-style burgers), or gently scraping up fond after caramelizing onions. It's also a great smashburger spatula for smaller-sized patties.
Turner surface is made from high-carbon stainless steel, with full tang construction and aluminum rivets.
Handle is made from cherry wood. Among the various woods used for kitchen utensils, we favor cherry for its durability and the warm patina it develops over years of use. Where others might become worn or dull, cherry keeps its reddish hue, but takes on a deeper, more rich character.
The Griddle Turner and its companion piece, the flexible Slotted Turner, are each Made in the USA.
Use the sturdy Griddle Turner as a heavy-duty spatula for flat-top style cooking on cast iron skillets or griddles.
Hand-wash only. Cherry is a closed grain wood that will hold up well to water exposure during cleaning. If wood feels too dry, apply a thin coat of food grade mineral oil to restore its texture and keep on cooking.
