Cherry Pie Filling 

Ingredients

  • 2 lb cherries pitted, fresh or frozen
  • 1.5 tsp lemon juice
  • 2.5 Tbsp Sugar 
  • 2.5 Tbsp cornstarch 
  • 2 Tbsp water

Instructions 

  1. Bring the cherries, lemon juice and sugar to a simmer.  
  2. While the cherries are cooking, mix the cornstarch and water to a thick, glue-like consistency. Add this to the fruit, cooking until the mixture just begins to thicken. 
  3. Remove from heat and pour onto a wide plate or dish to cool completely before using. 


Bake according to standard pie recipe.
