It is designed to carry forward the ergonomic design features of our handles ensuring a solid and comfortable connection between the user and the pan. The vegetable-tanned leather will develop its own unique patina with time and use.

100% Made in the USA from the cow to the final product. American hides are processed in a US tannery using tree bark and other natural tannins. The special edition red color is made from US hides that are vegetable tanned in Mexico and finished with a red pigment.

The leather is then cut and sewn by skilled US craftspeople.

Available in 3 colors and 2 sizes.

  • No.4 size is tailored to fit only our smallest skillet. 
  • Standard size fits all other Field Skillets & Griddles with a handle.

    Blk leather handle cover doesn’t fit

    Handle is too big, loose. Doesn’t fit well on #10 pan

    Based on customer feedback we have made our leather handle covers more loose as leather shrinks over time as it comes into contact from moisture when cooking. Many people want to be able to move their pan from the stove to the oven and safely and easily remove the leather handle cover when the pan is hot.

    You do have the option to shrink the handle cover yourself by wet molding. Soak the cover in water and put it on the handle of the skillet you want to use it with and leave it to dry. As it dries it will shrink. It may crack a bit but you can condition it with oil afterwards. You also may get a little rust on the handle which you can wash off afterwards.

    Better than a pot holder

    I like the leather handle cover because it is "fitted" to the handle and less awkward than an oven mitt or pot holder.
